Community Engagement Subcommittee

The Community Engagement subcommittee works with the RTRN
Steering Committee to ensure Network research activities adequately address the needs of the research study participants and the non-scientific community. The Community Engagement subcommittee ensures appropriate community representation in RTRN research activities, priorities and direction; provides assistance and direction related to study recruitment, and pursues strategies to enhance the partnerships between the community and researchers. The community engagement committee members will review and elaborate on proposed projects, methods of data collection, methodology to ensure that studies are culturally relevant and competent and that they include a community perspective in the proposed analysis. Importantly, the Community Engagement subcommittee will establish a forum for continuous discussion regarding the needs of the study participants and identifying methods for improved “bedside” manner.
