Portal Training

The RTRN Data Technology Coordinating Center (DTCC) is hosting a series of training sessions to introduce the RCMI community to the RTRN Portal and the collaboratory tools available through the portal.

RCMI investigators can access the RTRN portal to utilize the collaboratory and clinical tools to enhance research efforts and share information throughout the RCMI community. Additionally, the portal is accessible from any computer system through the RTRN web site, www.rtrn.net.

The RTRN Portal is a powerful collaboration platform that allows for the transmission of synchronous and asynchronous communication as well as content management for investigators, researchers and administrators. The Portal is a suite of integrated applications powered by Oracle 10g infrastructure. RTRN Portal users can:

• access e-mail

• maintain a calendar of events/activities

• schedule meetings and distribute notifications

• access intelligent file services equipped with file server consolidation

• access enterprise search and information retrieval options
  integrate real-time communications such as web conferencing

• and, utilize collaborative group communication and discussion features

These training opportunities are available to all members of the RCMI community; therefore, we strongly encourage all RCMI Principal Investigators, Program Directors, research investigators, Core Directors, research support personnel and representatives from the IT departments to participate in one of the training sessions.

**The same training session will be offered twice on the scheduled training day to accommodate the RCMI sites in various time zones. Therefore, participants need only to attend one of the sessions scheduled for that day.
